Elimination World Champion Ethan Vernon Joins Israel – Premier Tech for Three-Year Deal
Israel – Premier Tech has signed 22-year-old Ethan Vernon, the newly crowned Elimination World Champion, on a three-year deal. Vernon’s addition to the team will strengthen their sprint roster and contribute to his development as a road racer over the next three years.
Team owner Sylvan Adams expressed his excitement about the signing, stating, “I’m extremely happy to welcome Ethan to our team. Ethan is a talented and versatile rider who can both climb and sprint. He will also strengthen our classics team.”
Vernon is equally thrilled about joining Israel – Premier Tech and believes in the team’s potential for success. He said, “I’m really enthused about the team’s ethos and ambitions. I am excited about being part of the success story and a new project. Everyone I have spoken to shares the same values and their attention to the small details are really impressive and with this I truly believe that, both myself as an individual and IPT as a team will enjoy many years of success.“
Having started as a BMX rider, Vernon quickly made a name for himself as a track cyclist. Since making his road racing debut four years ago, he has shown his versatility and achieved notable success. As a pro, he has already secured seven wins, including WorldTour victories at Tour de Romandie and Volta Ciclista a Catalunya.
Reflecting on his early years as a professional cyclist, Vernon said, “My first years as a pro have been awesome. They have given me a wealth of experience and taught me the importance of teamwork, which turned into seven successful stage wins, personal achievements, and goals.”
Vernon’s aspirations include becoming one of the top sprinters in the world and excelling in hilly and mountainous races. He is confident that with the support of the Israel – Premier Tech team, he can achieve these goals.
The signing of Vernon aligns with IPT’s strategy of investing in young talent. In 2024, he will be joined by fellow track riders Riley Pickrell and Oded Kogut, further strengthening the team’s sprint and classics group.
Speaking about Vernon’s signing, IPT General Manager Kjell Carlström said, “We’re delighted to strengthen our sprint and classics group with Ethan who has shown his capability on multiple occasions already. This is also very much aligned with our strategy for the future where we continue to bring talents to our team, either through organic growth or through our scouting program.”
