Oded Kogut Makes Cycling History with Victory in Dookoła Mazowsza
Israeli cyclist Oded Kogut has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first-ever Israeli cyclist to win a stage race. Kogut, a 22-year-old sprinter from Haifa, secured victory at the Dookoła Mazowsza race in Poland.
Kogut showcased his impressive skills by achieving individual wins in the first three stages of the race. With the support of his Israeli team, he fought off fierce competition in the fourth and final stage, managing to hold onto the yellow jersey by a slim margin of seconds.
Reflecting on his triumph, Kogut expressed his gratitude towards his teammates, saying, “This historic milestone isn’t just mine – it belongs to all my teammates because without them I wouldn’t have stood a chance.” He also recounted the challenges faced during the race, including relentless attacks and moments of doubt. However, Kogut’s determination prevailed, and he clinched the victory by a nine-second gap.
Oded Kogut’s achievement has been recognized and celebrated by Sylvan Adams, the owner of Israel – Premier Tech, the team Kogut rides for.
