Astana Qazaqstan Team dominates the Asian Cycling Championships with multiple victories
The riders of Astana Qazaqstan Team, competing for Kazakhstan National Team, had an exceptional performance at the Asian Cycling Championships in Rayong, Thailand. The team secured a double victory in the Elite road race, as Gleb Brussenskiy and Yevgeniy Gidich won the gold and silver medals, respectively. Yevgeniy Fedorov also took home a back-to-back win in the Elite individual time trial. Furthermore, the team of Yevgeniy Fedorov, Dmitriy Gruzdev, Igor Chzhan, Marina Kuzmina, Rinata Sultanova, and Makhabbat Umutzhanova won the Mixed Relay event.
Astana Qazaqstan Development Team member Andrey Remkhe added to the team’s success by winning the gold medal in the Under 23 individual time trial. The riders showcased their strength, strategy, and teamwork throughout the championships, earning multiple victories and reinforcing their position as top contenders in the Asian cycling scene.
Gleb Brussenskiy expressed his elation with the win, stating, “I am really happy and proud of this success. It was good to win the Under 23 title last year, so it is something special to repeat it and win the Elite title today. I want to thank all my teammates for their huge support.”
Yevgeniy Fedorov, who claimed victory in the individual time trial, commented on his performance, saying, “It was my goal to try to win again the individual time trial at the Asian Championships, so I gave my best effort and dealt with the challenging weather conditions. I am really happy to bring another gold medal to Kazakhstan.”
