Zingle sprints to podium in stage two of Tour of Denmark
# Zingle Clinches Podium Finish in Stage Two of the Tour of Denmark
In an exhilarating showdown during the second road stage of the PostNord Tour of Denmark, Axel Zingle secured a third-place finish after a thrilling bunch sprint. The stage, covering just 110 kilometers, was crafted to accommodate the riders following the lengthy transfer from the previous day.
As the race unfolded, several cyclists attempted to carve their path with an early breakaway. However, it soon became evident that the conclusion would pivot around a high-stakes sprint, culminating in the peloton’s dramatic finish.
Zingle, well-supported by his teammates, initially slipped a few positions in the final kilometer but showcased his resilience by fighting his way back to the front, ultimately crossing the line in third place after a vigorous sprint.
“It was a good day for us today,” remarked sports director Maarten Wynants post-race. “We wanted to go for the sprint. It’s a strong field here, so we had to be realistic. Beforehand, we told ourselves that a podium finish would be a good result. We wanted to put Axel in the right position, which we managed partly. He still made his own move to get onto the wheels of the competition. We’re satisfied with today’s result. Tomorrow we’ll aim for a strong time trial with Axel. Hopefully, that will lead to a good position in the general classification.”
