Yevgeniy Fedorov Claims Fifth Place in Elite Race at UCI Gravel World Championships
The first ever UCI Gravel World Championships concluded in Veneto, Italy, with Yevgeniy Fedorov from the Astana Qazaqstan Team securing an impressive fifth place finish in the Elite category race. The race covered a distance of 194 km, with three-quarters of the route consisting of challenging white gravel roads.
Fedorov showcased his skills and determination throughout the race, staying at the front of the pack and working hard to maintain his position among the leaders. His efforts paid off as he crossed the finish line in fifth place, also earning him the title of the best young rider Under 23.
Fedorov shared his thoughts on the race, stating, “Today we had a very tough race. Technically it was really difficult… I am happy with my performance today and… was able to represent Kazakhstan in a good way in this World Championships.”
Miguel Angel Lopez, also from the Astana Qazaqstan Team, finished in 28th place. Fedorov’s season has been remarkable, with a gold medal in the U23 road race of the UCI Road World Championships, a second place finish in Il Piccolo Lombardia, and now a solid fifth place in the UCI Gravel World Championships.
