Brent Van Moer Excited for Tour of Flanders Challenge: “I Really Want to Show Something”

Despite the absence of key teammates, Brent Van Moer from Lotto Dstny is gearing up for the Tour of Flanders with determination. In a recent statement, Van Moer expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming race, emphasizing the unpredictable nature of the competition.

“Everyone will be looking at that one top favorite, but behind him, there are at least 20 others who could make it a very open race,” Van Moer stated. Reflecting on his strategy, he shared, “That’s what I’m looking forward to. If I could play a role like Florian did last year – anticipating early and forming a strong group towards the second passage over the Kwaremont – I would be very pleased.”

Van Moer’s optimism stems from his recent performance at the E3 Saxo Classic, where he showcased good form. Recounting a recent crash during Dwars door Vlaanderen, Van Moer mentioned his recovery, saying, “I feel some stiffness, everything is still feeling a bit tight, but I’m not in pain anymore. I barely have any abrasions, even. I’ve been ‘lucky’.”

Anticipating the Tour of Flanders, Van Moer highlighted his eagerness to make an impact, stating, “We’re starting here in a completely different way than was originally planned on paper … we’re even more determined to have a good race, and I really want to show something again. So, bring it on.”

On a confident note, Van Moer’s positive attitude and resilience underscore his readiness to take on the challenge of Flanders’ Finest as part of the ProTeam.
