Vuelta a España Returns to Zaragoza with Excitement
Ahead of the queen stage, Remco Evenepoel is third on the GC and leads the youth classification.
The city of Zaragoza has once again become a prominent location for the Vuelta a España after a 13-year absence. Known for its strong connection to cycling, Zaragoza hosted the Spanish Grand Tours and the Clasica Sabiñanigo for over two decades. The sprinters took center stage in the recent race, despite the challenging roundabouts and corners that added excitement to the closing kilometers.
Remco Evenepoel, securely positioned in the peloton alongside his Soudal Quick-Step teammates, maintained his third-place standing in the general classification. He now faces the arduous stage to Tourmalet, a legendary climb preceded by the challenging Col d’Aubisque.
Looking ahead to the next stage, Evenepoel commented, “Friday we’ll have a very hard stage on the menu. No flat, only up and down the entire time, and some hard stages; it’s one of the most demanding stages of this race and many things can happen. We’ll see how it goes, but one thing is certain: we’ll try to do our best.” After the stage, he showcased his football skills alongside Real Zaragoza’s Victor Mollejo and Lluis Lopez.
