Team Jayco AlUla is gearing up for the second edition of the Tour de Romandie Féminin with a well-rounded and motivated team. The three-day race in Switzerland features challenging terrain, and the team has selected a versatile line-up of six riders ready to seize every opportunity.
Several members of the core team, including Urška Žigart, Amber Pate, Ingvild Gåskjenn, and Ane Santestban, are returning from the Tour of Scandinavia. They are joined by Ruby Roseman-Gannon, who has shown impressive form in recent races, and American rider Kristen Faulkner, making her comeback after a long injury layoff.
Urška Žigart is feeling confident after strong training sessions and is eager to achieve good results in the last part of the season. She believes that the challenging course in Romandie will be demanding for all the stages. She emphasized the importance of staying out of trouble and is particularly excited about stage two, which suits her climbing capabilities. Žigart praised the team’s strength, stating, “We have a really well-rounded team, a really strong team I would say.”
Megan Chard, Sport Director of Team Jayco AlUla, believes that the race’s varied terrain suits the team well and wants the riders to be aggressive throughout each stage. Chard highlighted Ruby Roseman-Gannon’s impressive condition, and the team will be targeting stages that suit her strengths. Additionally, Chard sees stage two as crucial for the general classification (GC) and expects Ane Santestban, Kristen Faulkner, and Urška Žigart to perform well. Chard expressed excitement about an aggressive race and believes that the team’s strong performance on and off the bike in recent weeks will lead to top results in the final races of the season.
