Vanmarcke Forced to Sit Out Paris – Roubaix Due to Illness
Belgian cyclist Sep Vanmarcke has been ruled out of this year’s Paris – Roubaix due to illness. Vanmarcke has been battling a respiratory tract infection and though his recovery is going well, he still requires more time to get back in race condition.
“I am really sad to miss one of my favorite races of the year, Paris – Roubaix,” Vanmarcke expressed his disappointment. “It was a big goal for me. But I have to accept the situation and let my body recover first from the illness I’ve had in the last weeks.”
While the cyclist hopes to resume full training next week, adjustments will be made to his race program accordingly.
