Veteran cyclist Jos van Emden expressed his anticipation for the conclusion of his professional cycling career, stating, “I’m looking forward to it. My body and mind are telling me that my career as a professional cyclist is over.” Van Emden plans to conclude his career on a high note at Paris-Tours, expressing his hope to perform at a good level in the upcoming race.

Following his retirement, Van Emden will join Team Jumbo-Visma Women as a sports director, marking a new chapter in his career. “I’ve been thinking about becoming a sports director for a while,” Van Emden stated, emphasizing his eagerness to take on this new role.

In contrast, 20-year-old Per Strand Hagenes is preparing to transition to the WorldTour. Hagenes spoke optimistically about his progression, expressing his contentment with his development and his excitement to compete at the professional level. Hagenes, who won the U23 version of the French classic last year, is enthusiastic about the upcoming races and his professional debut. “I hope to do well in the classics,” he mentioned, expressing his eagerness to learn and compete in the upcoming spring classics.

As Van Emden and Hagenes embark on their respective journeys, Team Jumbo-Visma looks forward to their participation at Paris-Tours, where they will be joined by other team members. The cycling team’s lineup for the race includes Christophe Laporte, Dylan Van Baarle, Edoardo Affini, and Lars Boven.
