Van Aert’s Aggressive Attack Falls Short at Tour of Britain

Belgian cyclist Wout van Aert of Team Jumbo-Visma made an aggressive attack during the penultimate stage of the Tour of Britain, but fell just short of victory. With four kilometers to go, Van Aert launched his second attack of the day, but was caught again just before the finish line. Despite the disappointment, Van Aert remains in the leader’s jersey going into the final stage. Reflecting on the race, Van Aert admitted, “Maybe I rode too enthusiastically”. He plans to approach the final stage with a bit more caution and expects a tough battle for victory.
