“I’m pleased with the state of mind of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team today. We were told that the riders had to go on the offensive in this highly competitive UCI Women’s World Tour event. From kilometer 0, we tried with Maaike Coljé and then Anaïs Morichon. Unfortunately, the moves never really took. Many teams wanted to race. And then, Valentina Cavallar, on the 2nd climb of the day, pedaled away. She took the lead at the top of this difficulty. She broke away for around 30 kilometers before being caught again after the final climb. The mountain classification jersey she picked up rewards the great mentality of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team today”.
