Valentin Retailleau Finishes Second in Stage 4 of Vuelta a Burgos

Valentin Retailleau, in his first professional race as a neo-pro, narrowly missed out on a victory in stage 4 of the Vuelta a Burgos. Despite the disappointment, Retailleau expressed his satisfaction with the result, stating, “I’m a little disappointed to have come so close to a first professional victory, but at the same time very happy with the result. It didn’t come down to much. It would have been really nice to win one after the other, but it’s still a great performance.”

Retailleau, who recently completed a bachelor’s degree in business school, has been a professional cyclist for only five days. His contract with AG2R CITROËN began on August 1, 2022, and will run until 2024. Before turning professional, he was part of the AG2R CITROËN U19 team from 2017 to 2018 and then the AG2R CITROËN team from 2019 to 2022.

In other news, Dorian Godon and Andrea Vendrame secured 11th and 12th place, respectively, on the seventh stage of the Tour of Poland. Felix Gall finished 15th overall in the final classification of the race.
