Trainee Gleb Syritsa Takes Second Place at Tour de Slovaquie
After an impressive performance at the Arctic Race of Norway, where he finished second in the first stage, Gleb Syritsa of Astana Qazaqstan Team continued to shine at the Tour de Slovaquie. In Stage 1, Syritsa secured another podium place, coming in second behind the stage winner and race leader Ethan Vernon.
Supported by his teammates, Syritsa positioned himself well in the final kilometers and launched a strong sprint on the last straight in Trnava. Although he narrowly missed out on the stage win, Syritsa expressed contentment with his result and excitement for the upcoming stages in Slovakia.
“First of all, I’d like to thank all my teammates for a great support during this stage. Indeed, the team did an excellent job for me… Well, I did my best in the sprint, but it was enough just for a second place. However, I am quite happy with this result, and I am looking forward to the next days here in Slovakia,” – said Gleb Syritsa.
Following the prologue and Stage 1, Syritsa has moved up to 8th place in the General Classification of the Tour de Slovaquie. His teammate Stefan De Bod is currently in 9th place.
