Tour of Bulgaria: Michele Gazzoli Claims Stage 1b Victory

Italian cyclist Michele Gazzoli of Astana Qazaqstan Development Team emerged victorious in Stage 1b of the Tour of Bulgaria. Gazzoli won the sprint from a group of 14 leaders who broke away from the main peloton after two challenging climbs during the race.

Gazzoli expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance during the stage, stating, “The team did a great job from the bottom of the second climb, step by step increasing the pace. We opened a good gap and continued pushing on the descent to the finish. It was a powerful sprint, and I was able to win it. I feel good despite the warm weather, so I am looking forward to the next days here in Bulgaria.”

Earlier in the day, Gazzoli finished second in a flat city sprint in Stage 1a. With these results, he currently holds the fifth position in the General Classification, just four seconds behind the race leader.

The Tour of Bulgaria, which started with a prologue in Sofia, has been an exciting competition so far. Gazzoli’s impressive performance in Stage 1b has positioned him as a strong contender for the overall title. The race continues, promising more thrilling moments and fierce competition.
