Tour of Britain Ends Abruptly after Passing of Queen Elizabeth, Dylan Teuns and Corbin Strong Finish Fifth and Sixth
The Tour of Britain came to an unexpected early conclusion after the passing of Queen Elizabeth on September 8th. Due to operational and security concerns, the race organizers decided to end the Tour and assign final standings based on the end of the fifth stage. Dylan Teuns and Corbin Strong represented Israel – Premier Tech and finished fifth and sixth respectively.
Israel – Premier Tech, who had the race lead for multiple days in Britain, expressed their sadness at the news of the Queen’s passing. The team had a successful week in Great Britain, including a stage win and Corbin Strong wearing the leader’s jersey for several days.
Gonzalo Serrano from Team Movistar was crowned the winner of this year’s Tour of Britain. Despite the premature end, Teuns and Strong still managed to secure places in the top 10 for IPT.
