Israel Start-Up Nation Signs Promising Kiwi Cyclist Corbin Strong
Israel Start-Up Nation (ISN) has announced the signing of 21-year-old New Zealand cyclist Corbin Strong. Strong, who has been with SEG Racing Academy, will join the Israeli team for a three-year period.
Expressing his excitement about the opportunity, Strong said, “It is a dream come true joining Israel Start-Up Nation for the 2022 season. It will be a truly humbling experience to start my professional road career alongside some of the biggest names in the sport.”
Kjell Carlström, ISN’s general manager, spoke highly of Strong, stating, “Over the last few years, he has impressed us with his skills on the track as well as on the road. We are committed to giving Corbin a great home for further development and welcome him into the ISN family.”
Currently representing New Zealand at the Olympic Games, Strong is competing on the track. He has had a remarkable cycling career so far, starting at the age of ten and steadily progressing through the ranks. Reflecting on his journey, Strong shared, “After having tried multiple sports while growing up, I followed my dad and brother to the velodrome. When my brother broke his arm, I could borrow his bike. This started my love for the sport and, since then, I always dreamed of being a professional cyclist.”
Strong’s perseverance and talent have resulted in national titles in both road and track cycling during his junior years. Despite coming from a small town in New Zealand, he was determined to pursue his ambitious goal of becoming a professional cyclist.
Although Strong faced a setback with a broken back in his final season as a junior, he made a comeback with opportunities to develop in the national track cycling team and the Australian continental team St. George. Eventually, he joined the SEG Racing Academy and earned a spot on the New Zealand Olympic team.
Following the conclusion of the Olympics, Strong will complete the road season with his current team before officially joining ISN in 2022. He expressed his eagerness to learn from the best riders and continue his growth with ISN.
The partnership between Israel Start-Up Nation and the talented Kiwi cyclist Corbin Strong is set to pave the way for an exciting chapter in the young rider’s professional career.
