Tirreno-Adriatico: Jai Hindley rides to 3rd on the queen stage

The 6th stage of Tirreno-Adriatico (2.UWT) was the queen stage of the seven-day race in central Italy. As expected, the showdown for the stage win and the general classification took place on the 12km long final climb to the mountain finish at Monte Petrano. BORA – hansgrohe set the pace, reduced the bunch significantly and brought captain Jai Hindley into position. With an attack 6km out from the finish, overall leader J. Vingegaard secured the stage win. Jai Hindley was only beaten in the sprint by J. Ayuso and – just like yesterday – crossed the line in 3rd place. In the GC, Hindley was able to consolidate his podium position. One day before the conclusion of Tirreno-Adriatico, the Australian sits in 3rd. Result 01 J. Vingegaard 4:31:5702 J. Ayuso +0:2603 J. Hindley +0:2608 L. Kämna +0:46  From the Finish Line “We had a plan today and everyone was very committed, so big thanks to the guys! We went full gas from the bottom of the final climb to see if we could put some of the GC guys in trouble. Halfway up the climb Jonas showed he’s the strongest and went solo. Ayuso and I came to the line together, unfortunately I was outsprinted – but that’s bike racing. In any event, I’m happy with our ride as a team and where we are at the moment.” Jai Hindley
