Tim Merlier Proves Dominance with Consecutive Victory at AlUla Tour

In the recent race at the AlUla Tour, Tim Merlier showcased his sprinting prowess, clinching another impressive victory for the team. [“I’m happy with my second win of the week, it’s a great way to start the season! Having two jerseys is a nice bonus, but it’s not the only thing that makes me happy. Seeing the boys work so hard for me and do such an excellent job the entire day was incredible and I am delighted I could repay them with another victory.”]

The stage, although flat, presented challenges in the form of an uphill section in the final kilometer. Despite this, the Soudal Quick-Step boys delivered a flawless performance. Merlier’s decision to start his sprint with over 300 meters to go showcased his confidence and strength, enabling him to hold off late competition and secure the win. [“It was a hard finish. I decided to go from the distance because I felt really good and had a lot of confidence in myself on that uphill drag to the line.”]

With this victory, Merlier now holds the leader’s jersey at the AlUla Tour, also claiming the red jersey for the best rider in the points classification. [“It’s been a good race for us so far, but we have one more stage here and we’ll focus on that one and on doing our best to support our young teammate William Lecerf.”]

Merlier’s impressive performance not only marks a successful start to the season for him but also demonstrates the cohesive teamwork and dedication of the Soudal Quick-Step squad.
