Three races for Soudal Quick-Step on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Soudal Quick-Step will participate in three races with a mix of experienced and rising talents. The Münsterland Giro, Tre Valli Varesine, and Binche-Chimay-Binche will be the final appearance of some riders with the team.

Tim Merlier will lead the team in the Münsterland Giro, aiming for a bunch sprint victory. Sports director Geert Van Bondt expressed confidence in their chances, saying, “If it’s a mass gallop, then Tim will try to be there with Bert as his lead-out man.”

In Tre Valli Varesine, Julian Alaphilippe will join the team on a hilly circuit with demanding climbs. Sports director Davide Bramati praised the team’s grinta (passion and determination) and shared their goal of being in the mix at the right moment.

Lastly, Binche-Chimay-Binche holds emotional significance as it marks Fabio Jakobsen’s last race with Soudal Quick-Step. Jakobsen, who has had a special connection with the team and won a total of 44 races, including six Grand Tour stages and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, will be joined by a motivated group including Kasper Asgreen and Yves Lampaert.

Sports director Tom Steels highlighted the challenges of the Belgian race, including narrow roads, cobblestones, and potential echelons due to rain and winds. Nevertheless, the team is determined to showcase the Wolfpack spirit and perform well.

These races also mark the final appearance in a Soudal Quick-Step jersey for several other riders, including Rémi Cavagna and Ethan Vernon.
