Ride to Bring Them Home Now: Cyclists Unite for the Release of Captives

Premier Tech, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, and the Israeli Cycling Federation have announced a global solidarity event to mark the 100th day since the 7 October attacks and the kidnapping of hundreds of people to Gaza. This event aims to bring attention to the ongoing captivity of individuals and to call for their release. Tens of thousands are expected to participate in individual solidarity rides, with special cycling events planned in major cities worldwide. The campaign encourages cyclists to tie yellow ribbons to their bikes on 14 January and share their photos on social media using the #RideToBringThemHomeNow hashtag.

The initiative has gained support from notable figures in the cycling community, including Chris Froome, who has called on cyclists globally to join the solidarity ride. The event holds significance especially for the Calderon family, whose father and son were affected by the abductions. The rallying cry for solidarity seeks to bring attention to the suffering of captives and advocate for their release.

This event is particularly significant due to the harrowing testimonies of those released, causing immense distress among families whose loved ones remain in captivity. The global cycling community is urged to stand in solidarity with the affected families and join the movement to bring them home.
