Double Triumph: Bahrain Victorious Sweeps World Tour Races with Historic Wins
Team Bahrain Victorious made history on Wednesday 6th March 2024, by clinching victories in both of the day’s World Tour stage races. The remarkable achievement of winning both Paris-Nice and Tirreno-Adriatico will be etched in cycling history. Santiago Buitrago’s solo victory at stage 4 of Paris-Nice and Phil Bauhaus’ commanding sprint win at Tirreno-Adriatico showcased the team’s dominance and talent.
Reflecting on his win at Tirreno-Adriatico, Bauhaus expressed his joy and gratitude, stating, “I’m more than happy to have my first win of the year… It gives me big motivation… Also without my teammates, it would not have been possible.” The team’s Sports Director, Gorazd Stangelj, commended the exceptional performance, highlighting the team’s flawless execution and teamwork.
The elation spread to France when the team heard about the double victory. Rider Pello Bilbao remarked, “What a day for the team! Congrats to everyone here, and in Italy!” Buitrago, moved by his win at Paris-Nice, expressed, “It’s a very very special day for me… it’s really memorable.”
