Team Jumbo-Visma Prepares for Queen Stage Vuelta with Calm Approach
The Team Jumbo-Visma cycling team had a quiet day during stage 12 of the Vuelta a España as they geared up for the challenging Pyrenees stages ahead. Sports director Marc Reef emphasized the importance of staying out of trouble on the calm stage, saying, “We managed that. Sepp, Jonas and Primoz were always in a good position to avoid risks.” The team crossed the finish line safely and with no issues, focusing on the upcoming stages in the Pyrenees.
Reef also highlighted the significance of the Pyrenees stages in determining the general classification, stating, “This is where the strength of the GC contenders will be seen for the first time. We are in good shape, and we have a plan. We are all looking forward to it.”
Team Jumbo-Visma’s race leader Sepp Kuss expressed confidence heading into the critical Pyrenees weekend, saying, “It’s great that Primoz and Jonas believe in me. I have already received a lot of support and advice from them. The three of us are still in the top ten, which works in our favor. It’s hard to say how tomorrow’s stage will go, but we’ll support each other.”
The Team Jumbo-Visma cyclists finished stage 12 with Jonas Vingegaard in 25th place, Sepp Kuss in 36th place, Primoz Roglic in 43rd place, and the rest of the team closely behind.
The team’s current general classification standings after stage 12 are as follows: Sepp Kuss in 1st place, Marc Soler in 2nd place, Remco Evenepoel in 3rd place, and Primoz Roglic in 4th place.
The upcoming Pyrenees stages will prove to be challenging, but Team Jumbo-Visma is determined and ready to take on the mountains in their quest for victory.
