Astana-Qazaqstan’s Gleb Syritsa Takes Second Place in Stage One of the Tour of Turkey

Astana-Qazaqstan cyclist Gleb Syritsa showcased his impressive form by finishing second behind Jasper Philipsen in Stage One of the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey in Antalya. Syritsa’s second-place finish comes after his two victories in Le Tour de Langkawi last week.

In a fast and powerful sprint, Astana-Qazaqstan Team executed a flawless strategy for Syritsa, allowing him to secure a good position behind Philipsen. With 150 meters to go, Syritsa launched his sprint but was unable to overtake the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider, ultimately settling for second place.

Syritsa expressed his contentment with his performance, stating, “I did all I could, but Jasper was the fastest today. I could not do more to win this stage, so I have to be satisfied with my second place. It’s a pity because I wanted to deliver this victory to my team, to all the guys, who worked so great all day long. We had an amazing team today, and all the boys were just incredible. In the end, Alexey Lutsenko made a super lead out, while Cees Bol placed me ideally on the wheel of Philipsen. Indeed, it was a fantastic team job today.”

The Tour of Turkey continues, and Gleb Syritsa will be aiming to further showcase his form and secure more victories for Astana-Qazaqstan Team.
