Team Jayco AlUla Aiming for Podium Finishes at Tour of Guangxi
Team Jayco AlUla is eagerly gearing up for the Tour of Guangxi, as they aim to end their 2023 season on a high note. This marks the return of the WorldTour peloton to China after a three-year hiatus. With a strong roster led by David Jesus Peña, Blake Quick, and Rudy Porter, the team is eyeing both uphill finishes and sprint stages.
“We have good reason to expect them to get amongst it in the sprint and hill-top finals,” says Chris Juul-Jensen from Team Jayco AlUla. The team is eager to put on a solid and motivated performance in their last race of the season in order to head into the off-season on a high note.
Sport Director Tristan Hoffman emphasizes the team’s goals of focusing on the sprint stages with Quick and providing Porter and Peña with the best opportunity for a strong general classification (GC) showing. The team also comprises experienced riders Amund Grøndahl Jansen, Lukas Pöstlberger, Zdenek Štybar, who will provide valuable support to the younger members during the race.
Although it has been a long season for both the riders and the peloton as a whole, the Tour of Guangxi presents a great opportunity to end the year on a positive note. The race features a diverse course with flat stages and a challenging summit finish on stage four, making it an exciting event to watch.
Team Jayco AlUla is optimistic and determined to deliver podium finishes at the Tour of Guangxi as they look to wrap up the season with a strong showing. This final race of the year promises to be an interesting and thrilling competition for both the riders and cycling enthusiasts alike.
