Success for Josie Nelson with Third Place Finish at GP Oetingen
The GP Oetingen race showcased the peloton tackling a challenging 119-kilometre route with cobblestone sections and climbs. Josie Nelson, part of a young team in Belgium, demonstrated her strength and determination throughout the day, culminating in a noteworthy third-place finish.
As the race unfolded, Nelson found herself in a break with other riders, displaying her strategic acumen and prowess on the demanding course. Reflecting on the race, Josie shared her experience, stating: “We went into the race today with the plan to really get stuck into it and make it a hard day by attacking at any opportunity and the girls did a really good job with this.”
Team dsm-firmenich PostNL coach Joey Van Rhee provided insights on the team’s performance, highlighting areas of improvement and commendations for their efforts. Commenting on Josie’s achievement, Van Rhee noted, “In the end Josie was really strong and sharp. She was on Wiebes’ wheel on the two last laps so she was in a good position.”
