Stefan Küng’s Valiant Effort at the Summit of Alto da Fóia

In the latest stage of Volta ao Algarve, Stefan Küng displayed commendable resilience as he secured a twentieth-place finish at the Alto da Fóia, only forty-three seconds behind the winner. The stage saw Dani Martinez claim victory, while Küng valiantly fought alongside some of the best in the sport. Speaking on his performance, Küng reflected, “It went very fast, it was tough, but it’s not surprising given the field.” [Frédéric Guesdon highlighted,] “The day’s outcome is rather positive.”

Looking ahead, his team remains optimistic about his prospects in the competition. As Frédéric noted, “For the GC, Stefan is still on time.” Although there were challenges with achieving their stage goals, it was emphasized that their focus is on the bigger picture.
