National Cycling League Expands with Atlanta Team and 2024 Season Plans

The National Cycling League (NCL) has announced its plans for the upcoming 2024 season, including the addition of its first-ever expansion team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The league aims to invest in the Atlanta community and continue its focus on diversity, gender equity, community, and innovation.

CEO Andrea Pagnanelli stated, “We want to continue to invest in the Atlanta community, one of the country’s great cycling metropolitan areas, with projects like the Atlanta BeltLine, the Silver Comet Trail, and our partner Bearings Bike Works.”

After the success of the 2023 season, the NCL has also begun signing athletes for its franchise teams, the Denver Disruptors and the Miami Nights. Both teams quickly emerged as top contenders in American cycling during their inaugural season, participating in various races such as the NCL Cup Series, American Criterium Cup Series, and Joe Martin Stage Race.

Founder Paris Wallace expressed his satisfaction with the inaugural season, saying, “Our inaugural season exceeded all expectations, drawing in crowds of thousands, viewership from around the world, and a successful new format that works for America.”

The NCL has already finalized the re-signing of star athletes for the Denver Disruptors and the Miami Nights, including Paola Muñoz, Andrea Cyr, Noah Granigan, Riley Sheehan, and Clever Martinez. The league is currently in talks with other prominent riders and will announce additional signings in the coming weeks.

In addition to expanding its owned teams and signing athletes, the NCL will also partner with five other teams for the 2024 season. VP of Teams Reed McCalvin expressed excitement about the high demand to partner with the league and expects it to grow. The NCL has now opened its application process for athletes and teams for the 2024 season.
