Simon Clarke Takes Second Place at the Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia

Simon Clarke once again secured a podium finish at the Vuelta Ciclista a la Región de Murcia, coming in second place behind Ben Turner. Clarke showcased his strength in the sprint and executed his race plan flawlessly.

Clarke expressed his confidence in the finish, stating, “When I saw the final I thought this is my finish. I made sure I picked the right side of the corners and lined myself up for the finish.” However, Turner proved to have a better turn of speed in the last 100 meters.

Despite narrowly missing out on the victory, Clarke remains optimistic and looks forward to future races, saying, “Hopefully I can get some more strong finishes in the races to come.”

Adverse weather conditions forced changes to the course, including the suspension of the climb to the Alto Collado Bermejo. Nonetheless, the team worked together to keep Clarke safe and positioned well for the final sprint.

Sports Director Rene Mandri praised the team’s efforts, stating, “Our riders managed to place Simon really well, and he showed how clever he is, taking all the corners in the final perfectly, and following the right wheels. Generally, it was a good race for the team and the guys can be happy with the result.”

With each race, the team is getting closer to achieving their goals, and the future looks promising for Clarke and his teammates.
