Simon Clarke Signs Contract Extension with Israel – Premier Tech

Simon Clarke, the Australian cyclist, has signed a two-year contract extension with Israel – Premier Tech, keeping him with the team until 2024. The new deal comes after a successful 2022 season, which saw Clarke achieve his biggest win at the Tour de France. General Manager Kjell Carlström praised Clarke’s performance, stating that he has become an integral part of the team. Clarke expressed his gratitude for the opportunity given to him by Israel – Premier Tech, calling the contract extension a reward for his persistence and hard work.

“It has been a huge rollercoaster in 2022 for me,” Clarke said. “You have to take the ups and the downs but it has been a great year. I feel like the stage win in the Tour de France and the new contract I have signed is basically a reward for never giving up, sticking at it, staying positive even in the difficult times.”

Sylvan Adams, a partner at IPT, admitted that they had wanted to sign Clarke in 2021 but couldn’t due to roster limitations. However, they were able to correct that error when Clarke became available. Adams expressed his satisfaction with Clarke’s performance and wished him and IPT success in the coming years.

Clarke’s stage win at the Tour de France was not only a personal achievement but also a historic moment for Israel – Premier Tech. Looking ahead, Clarke aims to continue his success with the team and achieve more results in the future.
