Sheffield Sprints to Second Place and Takes Lead in CRO Race

Magnus Sheffield made a strong sprint to finish second in stage four of the CRO Race in Croatia, securing the race lead. The early coverage of the race saw Luke Rowe and Luke Plapp taking turns at the front of the bunch, with Elia Viviani also working hard for their team.

Ethan Hayter also had a standout moment during the intermediate sprint, claiming three bonus seconds and moving up in the General Classification standings. As the race reached the penultimate climb, Plapp once again led the Grenadiers, setting a strong pace for most of the ascent.

Over the top of the climb, Connor Swift and Josh Tarling maintained a high tempo while ensuring Sheffield and Hayter remained well positioned for the finale. In the last kilometer of the race, Sheffield took the lead from the front and set a blazing pace with Hayter on his wheel, dropping many of their rivals.

Despite a great effort, Sheffield was narrowly edged out and finished in second place, with Hayter taking fourth. With just two stages remaining, the Grenadiers now hold the first and third spots on the General Classification standings.
