Sheffield Climbs the GC Rankings at CRO Race

Magnus Sheffield and his team showcased exceptional teamwork during the finale of the CRO Race, allowing him to make significant gains in the general classification (GC). The stage was dominated by two laps of a challenging finishing circuit, featuring a steep climb near the end.

Luke Rowe and Luke Plapp played a crucial role in keeping the breakaway in check during the rolling run-in. Josh Tarling then positioned the team perfectly at the foot of the penultimate climb, where Sheffield led the Grenadiers over the top. Elia Viviani maintained a fast pace, while Connor Swift’s strategic riding allowed Sheffield to secure two bonus seconds on the first crossing of the finish line.

In the sprint, Sheffield finished ninth and, thanks to a split in the peloton, gained a two-second advantage over most of his competitors in the GC rankings. These impressive results have positioned Sheffield favorably for the remaining stages of the race.
