In an exhilarating display of competitive spirit, Margaux Vigié from Team Visma | Lease a Bike clinched second place at the seventh edition of the Kreiz Breizh Féminin, a prestigious one-day race held in France. The race spanned 138 kilometers and witnessed a fierce battle among top female cyclists including Vigié, Eva van Agt, Femke de Vries, and Sophie von Berswordt.

Vigié showcased remarkable endurance and strategy, successfully bridging the gap to the three leaders on the local circuit. With just four laps remaining, she seized the opportunity to break away from her fellow escapees. As a team, we were at the front all day and made sure that someone was always there when a strong group broke away. Unfortunately, I fell just short at the end, but I think I can be proud of the level I showed.”

Despite the setback, Vigié kept her spirits high, remarking, “With four laps to go, I knew it was still a long way to the finish. Still, I dared to go solo, because when the leading group slows down a bit, you have to take your chance. When Elisa caught up, I knew I had already wasted a lot of energy and that it would be difficult to win. I tried to stay calm and follow as long as possible. Unfortunately, the race lasted ten kilometers too long.”
