Veenhoven sprints to fourth place in Konvert Koerse

The third edition of the Flemish one-day race ended as expected in a bunch sprint. Veenhoven was well positioned thanks to her teammates in the final kilometres, but the youngster fell just short in the final sprint. “It’s always unfortunate if you just fall short of the podium, but the other three were simply faster”, Veenhoven said.”It was a very hectic race. Beforehand, we had thought of putting it on the side, but there was too little wind. We entered the local circuit with a big bunch and with two laps to go, I knew a sprint was inevitable. The ladies made sure I was positioned well for the final sprint. Unfortunately, it was just not enough for the podium.”

After her third place in the Egmond Cycling Race and fourth place in Kortrijk, Veenhoven can look back on a good week. “I am happy to be there again and to be able to rely more and more on my sprint. The results aren’t there just yet, but as a team we rode great again. That’s always nice.”
