Reviewing Team Visma’s Performance at the Volta NXT Classic: Lessons Learned

The Team Visma | Lease a Bike recently faced a challenging race at the Volta NXT Classic in South Limburg, characterized by demanding climbs and tough competition. Despite the team’s efforts, the race unfolded with intense attacks and breakaways that impacted the outcome.

Sport director Sierk Jan de Haan expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, stating, “”What we performed today is unfortunately not reflected in the results. The guys rode really well today and as a team.”” De Haan acknowledged the team’s strong effort, particularly from the younger riders, who displayed commitment and initiative throughout the race.

Reflecting on the race, De Haan highlighted the importance of learning from such experiences, emphasizing the need for the team members to take initiative and make strategic decisions during races. He noted, “Even though we missed the breakaway of the day and just couldn’t keep up with the counter-attackers, we kept showing initiative. Our Devo riders gave the best of themselves and that makes us happy.”
