Remco Evenepoel Reflects on His Final Push in the Vuelta
Belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel recently gave his all in the final stage of the Vuelta, determined to end the race on a high note. Speaking about his mindset before the race, Evenepoel said, “I just wanted to enjoy this last day as much as possible. My wife was here, my family, my parents… I just wanted to give it one last push.”
Despite facing tough competition, Evenepoel expressed gratitude for the opportunity given by his team. He noted, “I had a free card from the team. It was a good group and we went to the finish line.” However, he acknowledged the challenge posed by the fast competitors in the group, stating, “But seeing the fast guys in the group, I knew it would be pretty difficult to beat them.”
Reflecting on his overall experience in the Vuelta, Evenepoel shared his satisfaction with the final day, remarking, “I think it’s a nice day and a nice way to finish the Vuelta.” His support system, including his wife and family, undoubtedly made the occasion even more special.
