Embret Svestad-Bårdseng 5th overall

“We had a complicated day with a succession of events that didn’t work in our favor. First of all, we lost Martin Tjotta in a racing incident on a descent. Before this final stage, he was 4th overall and one of the favourites for the final podium. The ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team lost a great chance of a good overall result. Embret Svestad-Bårdseng finished 8th on the final stage, putting him 5th overall. He was unlucky and made some tactical errors, which probably deprived him of the stage and overall podiums. But that’s also our raison d’être in the continental development team: training. 5th place is a fine result, but we’re disappointed because there was room for improvement. I’d like to underline the great spirit of the team throughout the week and congratulate Jean-Loup Fayolle, who did a great job for Embret on this last stage.
