Kooij Takes Fourth Place in Sixth Stage of Tour of Britain
In the sixth stage of the Tour of Britain, Team Jumbo-Visma’s Olav Kooij secured a fourth-place finish. Despite controlling the race all day, the team was unable to secure another win.
Team leader Wout van Aert expressed his disappointment, saying, “Unfortunately, we didn’t manage [to get another win]. We are back with both feet on the ground… It is an excellent example that it was not a given that we won the first five stages.” He acknowledged the strong competition and the team’s efforts to stay at the front.
Looking ahead to the final weekend, Van Aert emphasized the importance of staying focused and cool-headed. “A three-second lead is not significant, so there will be a lot of attacks. We will do our best to take the overall victory,” he said.
The stage was won by Danny van Poppel of team BORA – hansgrohe.
