ProTeam Rider Sébastien Grignard Makes Comeback in Dunkirk Following Spring Filled with Bad Luck

After a series of unfortunate events this spring, Lotto Dstny rider Sébastien Grignard is ready to make his comeback in the peloton at the 4 Jours de Dunkerque. The 24-year-old Belgian suffered a concussion and a fracture in his hand after a heavy crash at Paris-Roubaix, adding to his earlier crash at Etoile de Bessèges.

In reflecting on the crash at Paris-Roubaix, Grignard expressed, “I don’t remember anything about the fall itself,” and went on to explain, “A few weeks later, a new scan showed a fracture in my hand. This delayed my return to the peloton.”

Despite the setbacks, Grignard’s recovery went well, and he quickly returned to training and preparation for his comeback. “It’s always a bit nerve-wracking to race again after a fall, but I’m looking forward to it,” said Grignard. He recently participated in the kermesse race GP Vermarc and is excited to race in the 4 Jours de Dunkerque for the first time.

Grignard sees the race as an opportunity to assess his form and hopes to contribute to the team’s success. “This is a race that should suit me. I am especially looking forward to racing a few days in a row. That will really give me an idea of my form. I hope we can deliver another strong collective performance,” he shared.

Looking ahead, Grignard is eager to support his team in the upcoming races. “We have some great races coming up and I want to be there to support my team,” he stated. “We have some strong riders who can get even more results in the coming months and I want to be there to help them.”
