# Lotto Soudal Welcomes Cedric Beullens to Complete 2022 Roster
Lotto Soudal has finalized its team lineup for the upcoming 2022 season with the addition of 24-year-old Belgian cyclist Cedric Beullens from Onze-Lieve-Vrouw-Waver. The young talent has signed a two-year agreement with the Belgian WorldTeam, marking a significant step in his professional cycling career.
Previously part of Sport Vlaanderen – Baloise, Beullens distinguished himself as a promising Classics rider, achieving top 20 finishes in notable WorldTour events such as Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Eschborn-Frankfurt. He expresses his enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, *“To be honest, it hasn’t fully sunk in yet that I will defend the Lotto Soudal colours next season, but of course I am very happy with this transfer! Following two great years at Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise, this is the right step in my career to further develop myself.”*
Beullens is drawn to Lotto Soudal not only for its ambitious project but also for the opportunity to collaborate with a mix of both young and seasoned cyclists. He highlights his eagerness to compete in the spring Classics, saying, *“I just love the atmosphere and the charm of the Flemish Classics.”*
General Manager John Lelangue commented on the team’s strategy of integrating emerging talent, noting, *“Completely in line with our vision, we complete our team for 2022 with another young Belgian talent Cedric Beullens. Cedric will strengthen the Classics squad and has proved this year that he can do well in one-day races with among others a 17th place at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and a 12th place at Eschborn-Frankfurt.”* He praised Beullens’ previous accomplishments, including a second-place finish at the Ronde van Vlaanderen for U23 riders, which underscores his potential in Flemish Classics.
As Beullens looks forward to the next two seasons with Lotto Soudal, he reflects on his growth as a rider, stating, *“Last season, I already had a taste of some WorldTour races. I feel that I have grown as a rider and I’ve also acquired more race insight. But at the same time, I realize that being part of a WorldTeam will be quite the challenge.”* He aims to make a significant impact in the Classics squad while aspiring for personal achievements, including the prospect of racing in a Grand Tour.
The addition of Cedric Beullens to Lotto Soudal is emblematic of the team’s commitment to nurturing talent and maintaining a competitive edge in the cycling world. As preparations for the new season ramp up, the excitement builds around the team’s potential with fresh faces and seasoned veterans alike.
