Lotto Dstny Aims for Stage Victory in Vuelta

Lotto Dstny, a Belgian cycling team, is heading to the Vuelta a España with a strong and balanced group of riders. The team, consisting of Andreas Kron, Lennert Van Eetvelt, Jarrad Drizners, Thomas De Gendt, Sylvain Moniquet, Eduardo Sepulveda, Sébastien Grignard, and Milan Menten, is targeting a stage victory in the prestigious race.

According to sports manager Kurt Van de Wouwer, the team has a combative and balanced lineup, with no specific leader. This provides opportunities for every rider to showcase their abilities. He highlighted the team’s impressive performance in the recent Tour de France, where their fighting spirit was on display nearly every day. Victor Campenaerts even finished on the podium in Paris as the Super Combatif. Similarly, in the Vuelta, the team aims to demonstrate their determination and strength in each stage.

The team comprises a mix of experienced riders and talented young cyclists. Thomas De Gendt, who will participate in his 24th Grand Tour, has fond memories of the Vuelta, having secured a stage victory in 2017 and the KOM jersey in 2018. On the other hand, Sébastien Grignard, Milan Menten, and Lennert Van Eetvelt will be making their grand tour debuts in this race. Van de Wouwer highlighted Van Eetvelt’s youthfulness as the youngest member of the team at just 22 years old. He also praised Van Eetvelt’s previous accomplishments, including his first professional victory in the Sibiu Tour. Van Eetvelt will have the opportunity to experience a grand tour for the first time without any pressure. Milan Menten, known as the team’s fast man, will have the support of Jarrad Drizners in the sprint stages.

Andreas Kron, Eduardo Sepulveda, and Sylvain Moniquet will bring their climbing talents to the hilly stages of the Vuelta. Van de Wouwer expressed his confidence in Sepulveda, highlighting his recent stage victory and overall classification win in the Vuelta Castilla y León. He also expects Kron and Moniquet to perform well in the more challenging stages of the race.

With a strong and diverse team, Lotto Dstny is ready to take on the Vuelta and strive for a stage victory. The riders will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and contribute to the team’s overall success in the race.
