ProTeam Arnaud De Lie eager for a strong second half of the season at Renewi

# Arnaud De Lie Looks to Make His Mark in Second Half of the Season at Renewi

As part two of the cycling season kicks off with the Renewi Tour, Arnaud De Lie is eager to turn his fortunes around after a challenging first half of the year. The rider, alongside many others, is hopeful for a strong finish this season. “There are many opportunities,” he noted, expressing optimism as he gears up for the upcoming races.

This year’s Renewi Tour diverges from the last edition by omitting the time trial, a factor that has led Alec Segaert, last year’s winner, to opt for the Tour of Denmark instead. De Lie sees this change as beneficial. “Who knows, maybe I can compete for the GC that way… But first and foremost, I want to try and win a stage, just like last year,” he shared.

Last year’s race saw De Lie clinch the stage ending in Geraardsbergen, a return route on this year’s program. However, he also anticipates opportunities starting today between Terneuzen and Breskens. He commented, “I expect a lot of wind, anyway. So it will be important to stay alert, race attentively at the front… Who knows, maybe we can sprint with a small group.”

Fresh off a demanding Tour, De Lie demonstrated his resilience over the weekend, particularly in a strong showing in Hamburg. “I was disappointed with that second place in Hamburg this weekend… A result like Hamburg eventually gives you confidence,” he reflected. After a solid performance in the Franco-Belge two days earlier, he feels rejuvenated: “I know the legs are there. Now for the results.”

With determination in his heart, Arnaud De Lie is poised to tackle the challenges of the Renewi Tour, hoping to leave a lasting impression in the season’s second half.
