Podium Finish for Veenhoven in Veenendaal – Veenendaal

# Veenhoven Secures Podium Finish at Veenendaal One-Day Race

In the fifth edition of the Veenendaal – Veenendaal one-day race, Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women made a strong showing, with Nienke Veenhoven clinching third place. The race, known for its flat terrain, saw Team Visma take an active role early, with Lieke Nooijen making key moves in the initial phase. However, achieving a decisive breakaway proved challenging.

Entering the final kilometres, the competitors remained tightly grouped, and Team Visma successfully positioned Veenhoven for the sprint. The 22-year-old Dutch rider gave it her all, ultimately finishing strong in a podium spot.

Reflecting on her performance, Veenhoven remarked, “Third place was the best possible result today, although I had hoped for more.” She added, “It was a hectic day. As a team, we tried to control the race as well as possible, and we did that well. Our goal was to sprint for the win today and in the end we were able to fight for victory.”

The race concluded with Charlotte Kool of Fenix-Premier Tech taking first place, followed closely by Kathrin Schweinberger from Human Powered Health in second.

Completing the results for Team Visma, Daniek Hengeveld, Martina Fidanza, Lieke Nooijen, and Imogen Wolff also competed, finishing shortly behind Veenhoven.

As Veenhoven and her team look to build on this experience, fans await their next challenge on the cycling calendar.
