Pidcock Finishes Second in CX Season Opener

The X2O Badkamers Trofee’s third round in Belgium saw a thrilling battle for podium places, with Tom Pidcock impressing with a second-place finish. Despite starting from the second row and initially finding himself deep in the pack, Pidcock rapidly made his way back into the top 10 and later latched onto the lead chasing group. Eventually, he successfully held off his competitors to secure second place, finishing 28 seconds behind the solo winner Mathieu van der Poel.

In the end, Pidcock expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, “That’s my best first cross race [of the season]. The first two or three laps I was finding my way.” Looking ahead, he added, “I like that course a lot, so hopefully today opened me up and tomorrow I can race well.”

Pidcock’s CX season journey will continue as he gears up to compete in the World Cup round on the iconic Namur course, set to take place on Sunday.
