Per Strand Hagenes Edges Olav Kooij as Winner of Münsterland Giro

Per Strand Hagenes emerged victorious in the challenging Münsterland Giro race, succeeding Olav Kooij as the winner. Hagenes, along with two other riders, broke away from the peloton early on and maintained a strong collaboration throughout the race. In the final stages, Hagenes made a decisive move and held on until the finish line.

“We played strong and were in the breakaway with three riders,” said Hagenes. “It was just a matter of keeping going. In the last few kilometers, Christophe said I had to try something. I took a shot, and it turned out to be the right one. I only realized I had won when I saw the staff cheering.”

This victory marks Hagenes’ third win of the season, having previously won the Profronde van Drenthe and a stage in the 4 Jours de Dunkerque. He is excited for next season and looks forward to racing in the classics, which he believes will suit him well and provide ample opportunities for development.

The Münsterland Giro is a one-day race known for its challenging terrain and difficult conditions. Hagenes’ win brings the total number of victories for Team Jumbo-Visma to 65 for the year.
