Omer Goldstein Shows Determination at Vuelta a Burgos

Israeli road race champion Omer Goldstein displayed his determination and aggressive racing skills at stage four of the Vuelta a Burgos, securing a third-place finish on the uphill sprint. While disappointed with missing the win, Goldstein remains optimistic and determined to achieve his goals.

Goldstein expressed his disappointment, stating, “I’m disappointed that I didn’t get the win because I really wanted it… But it’s sport and you need to take risks! Sport isn’t a science, it’s all about feeling. So I took my chance and I was third.”

During the 169-kilometer stage, Goldstein was part of a 14-rider breakaway, showcasing his strong performance. As the race progressed, Goldstein continued to push hard and set himself up for a potential victory. However, he was overtaken in the final meters, ultimately finishing in third place.

Reflecting on his performance, Goldstein said, “Everything was going well today. I was in the breakaway and then when we split, I was in the front group. I was feeling good all day and I knew that this is the way I can win, from a breakaway like this. My result today means I have improved in the General Classification so I will try and improve again tomorrow, whether that is in another breakaway or from the bunch, and score as many points as possible.”

Looking ahead, Goldstein already has his sights set on future goals. After missing out on the Tour de France, he shifted his focus to the Vuelta a España. Goldstein remains confident in his preparation and determined to continue excelling in his cycling career.
