# Oisin O’Callaghan Joins Trek-Unbroken DH and Looks Forward to New Adventures
Oisin O’Callaghan has officially signed on with Trek-Unbroken DH, and he couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming season. Balancing life as a professional downhill racer and his home life in Ireland, O’Callaghan reflected on the growing support he receives during competitions.
**”Racing away from home for so much of the year, I have to imagine it’s pretty cool to come back and see the impact you made locally over the course of the year,”** he shared. The sense of pride and connection to his roots is palpable, especially as he observes an increasing number of Irish fans attending World Cup events. **”And even nowadays, the amount of Irish people that come out to watch World Cups is getting bigger and bigger, which is a crazy thing too. There’s so many people coming out just for the weekends to support us. And obviously you feel the need to perform. When there’s people flying the whole way from your country to a race, you kind of feel — not pressure, but you want to deliver a good weekend.”**
As the offseason unfolds, O’Callaghan is making adjustments both personally and professionally. This winter marks his first spent in a new location, just outside of Dublin. **”This is the first winter where I’m living somewhere new,”** he noted, emphasizing the importance of change in his training routine.
The shift in scenery has reinvigorated his passion for cycling. **”I swear to God, the puppy, Jesus Christ — it’s good having somewhere new to ride after riding the same places since I was a kid, pretty much,”** he said, laughing about the joys of his puppy and new environment.
With a focus on optimizing his offseason training, O’Callaghan is quickly ramping up his activity: **”I’ve been pretty eager. I’ve been doing lots of laps already on the bike, even before I went to California.”** His schedule is packed, featuring 2-3 gym sessions a week, two trail rides, and multiple downhill or e-bike days, sprinkled with occasional moto days.
As he prepares for the season with Trek-Unbroken DH, O’Callaghan’s enthusiasm and commitment to improvement are set to drive him forward, promising an exciting year ahead for both him and the supportive fans back home.
