In a riveting fourth stage of the Simac Ladies Tour, Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women displayed resilience and teamwork, maintaining a strong presence at the front of the peloton. As the race concluded in a sprint finish, the Dutch team’s Nienke Veenhoven couldn’t secure a top placing, but the squad’s performance remained commendable.
Reflecting on the day’s efforts, team member Lieke Nooijen stated, “We rode well as a team today. From the very start, we positioned ourselves well at the front, and when the race split, we had five riders in the leading group. In the finale, we tried to set up Nienke as best as possible, but unfortunately it was extremely hectic. Still, we can look back on a good race.”
The day’s competition culminated in a sprint that saw Team SD Worx – Protime’s Lorena Wiebes take the win, with Chiara Consonni of CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto and Shari Bossuyt from AG Insurance – Soudal Team following closely behind. Looking ahead, Nooijen highlighted the upcoming time trial as a pivotal moment for the general classification, mentioning, “I’m looking forward to it. Of course, it’s been some tough days, so we’ll have to see how the legs will feel, but at least I’m really motivated.”
