No podium for Team Jumbo-Visma Women at Giro dell Emilia Internazionale Donne
Team Jumbo-Visma Women Miss Podium at Giro dell Emilia Internazionale Donne
In the first Italian autumn classic, Team Jumbo-Visma Women faced setbacks that prevented them from reaching the podium at the Giro dell Emilia Internazionale Donne. Despite numerous attacks, no lead group emerged, and it was on the final climb to the Basilica San Luca where the race saw a big shake-up. Thirteen riders remained at the foot of the climb, and it was Uttrup Ludwig who emerged as the strongest and crossed the finish line solo.
Race coach Carmen Small commented on the team’s strategy, stating, “The plan today was to get a good result with Eva…Unfortunately, this is part of racing.” Small also expressed her excitement for the upcoming race, Tre Valli Veresina, saying, “I’m looking forward to Tre Valli Veresina…I will give it my all with this great group of riders and staff.”
Despite not achieving the desired result at Giro dell Emilia Internazionale Donne, Team Jumbo-Visma Women remains determined and focused on future races.
