Nick Schultz Set to Test His Legs and Pursue Top-Ten Finish at Paris-Nice
Israel – Premier Tech is ready to tackle the upcoming Paris-Nice race with the objective of securing stage wins and aiming for a high position in the General Classification. With a team time trial and challenging mountain stages, the team is prepared to shake up the competition.
According to Sports Director Oscar Guerrero, the team will be keeping a close eye on Nick Schultz’s performance in the General Classification. Guerrero expressed his optimism, stating, “We will see how far Nick Schultz can go in the General Classification but it would be great to see him around the top-ten.” Additionally, other team members like Hugo Houle will seize the opportunities for stage wins.
The initial sprint stages will provide an opportunity for Tom Van Asbroeck to excel. However, the team’s strategy will be reassessed after the team time trial. Guerrero explained, “After that, we can see what our situation is and whether we keep going for the GC or switch our focus purely to stage wins and breakaway opportunities.” Sebastian Berwick and Stevie Williams will be ready to take advantage of any breakaway opportunities that arise.
Nick Schultz, who recently made his stage race debut with Israel – Premier Tech at Vuelta a Andalucia Ruta Ciclista Del Sol, is eagerly anticipating his participation in Paris-Nice. Schultz acknowledged the intense nature of the race, saying, “Paris-Nice is notoriously a very tough eight days of racing with lots of different elements to contend with.” He added, “I’ll be looking to test myself as I did in Andalusia and see where that takes me.”
The Paris-Nice race will take place from March 5th to March 12th. The team roster includes Sebastian Berwick, Hugo Houle, Taj Jones, Guy Sagiv, Nick Schultz, Tom Van Asbroeck, and Stevie Williams. The team will be guided by Sports Directors Oscar Guerrero, René Andrle, and René Mandri.
